Jump Trading Sues Former Firedancer Engineer for Starting Rival Business

Jump Trading has filed a lawsuit against Liam Heeger, a former software engineer who co-led the Firedancer blockchain project at the company. Heeger is accused of violating non-competition obligations by launching a new blockchain development venture that directly competes with Jump Trading. Heeger resigned from Jump on November 11, 2023, and subsequently started his new business. Unto Labs, representing Heeger, has denied the allegations, asserting confidence in the integrity of their business practices and expressing respect for the legal process.
